We have been shoeing and doing remedial work for decades. Plenty of it is straightforward. A lot of it is not. Feet with no sole to work with. Horses that come right for a week and then go back. Cracks that open up again every cycle. Feet that cannot take a nail where you need one. Horses in hard work that still need protection on their days off, or between visits, because a shoe is not the whole answer. Those are the ones that pushed us. Some of what we use now we made ourselves. Some of it we tried on horse after horse and kept because it held up. Reading helped. Years of watching what actually changed the horse helped more.
That is what this shop is for. Boots, pads, thrush stuff and the bits we use in the yard. Nothing on here that we would not put on a horse ourselves.
If you want that middle bit on its own:
The work that shaped this was the awkward feet. No sole depth to play with. A horse that looks better, then does not. Cracks that come back every shoeing. Nowhere safe to put a nail. Horses that still need the foot looked after on the days they are not shod, because a shoe alone was not sorting it. We tried things, dropped what failed, and kept what helped.
